In
2014 there were 136 police officers who died in the line of duty. This may not
seem like a lot compared to the amount of police officers there are in this country
or the amount of deaths in America but these are men and women who are out
there to protect us. Not all were murdered but a big majority were. About 65 of
that 136 were murdered in various different ways. The other 71 were different
accidents
In 2015
there were 127 deaths of police officers in the line of duty. This is 9 less
than 2014. Of these 127 deaths about 92 of them were murders and the other 35
were different accidents. The reason why these are high numbers to me is
because these police officers are out there protecting us and these men and
women died protecting others. I can not prove how many lives their deaths saved
but I know they saved them.
